ONE ROOM CHALLENGE // WEEK 2 DESIGN PLAN

October 12, 2016 by Kristin Jackson 13 Comments

Week Two is already here!  And I have been busy scheming and planning what this living room is exactly going to be.  As this space spend up into the previously completed kitchen & dining room it obviously needs to fall into the same design vein.  This means accents in white, black & shades of blue.  But wanting to warm up the area a bit, I wanted to bring in a little more color.… Read More

BATHROOM SHOWER TRACK WITH BALL CHAIN

October 7, 2016 by Kristin Jackson 8 Comments

I wanted to answer some questions about one of my favorite elements of this space, the shower curtain track.  When trying to determine the perfect curtain rod, I knew I wanted something that would draw the eye up.  I considered a custom full length shower curtain, but felt that with these clients I could try something a little unexpected.
After some research I came across Trax and knew that this would be the ideal solution.  … Read More

ONE ROOM CHALLENGE // WEEK ONE

October 5, 2016 by Kristin Jackson 14 Comments

Surprise!!!  It is One Room Challenge time again!!  Last time, for those who may be new around here, I helped my client’s recreate their bedroom in dreamy blues.  And while those clients lean a little more traditional, this round will be a little bohemian and a little glam.
I will be working on a space that you all are very familiar with by now, #ProjectFamJam!… Read More

#PROJECTFAMJAM // BATHROOM RENOVATION

October 3, 2016 by Kristin Jackson 18 Comments
This post was sponsored by Pratt & Lambert

When first discussing paint colors for #ProjectFamJam, the initial client’s desire were white walls and black windows throughout.  I agreed that for the newly opened floorplan, that the same paint throughout would help to make the space feel more cohesive.  But when it came one space in particular I felt I had to convince them to change their minds.  … Read More

OCCUPATIONAL HAZARD // NEW RUG

August 31, 2016 by Kristin Jackson No Comments

As an Interior Designer, I often pick up items that I think would be perfect for a client’s new space.  And sometimes, I may bring them home and realize that they are perfect for one of my spaces instead.  #OccupationalHazard oops.  This happened last week after I picked up a colorful rug from World Market for my cousins home.
I had it rolled up, simply leaning against the wall in our hallway and continued to glance over, envisioning the rug in my stepson’s room.  … Read More

#PROJECTFAMJAM DINING ROOM REVEAL

August 29, 2016 by Kristin Jackson 6 Comments

I had every intention of sharing this space on Friday, but my big brother surprised me and my family by making a quick visit, so we took the day to go and visit my father with his visit!  A much needed distraction from his recovery.
So now we take a quick look around our cousins’ new dining room! Last week I walked you all through their new kitchen.  … Read More

#PROJECTFAMJAM KITCHEN SOURCES

August 25, 2016 by Kristin Jackson 1 Comment

There was a lot of design explanation about the kitchen yesterday, so if you were looking for a particular source I thought I would make it a little easier today.  Sometimes short and sweet is the way to go!!  And btw… the cabinets were finished in the color Bleu from the cabinet manufacturer but Sherwin Williams Naval Blue is a close match.… Read More

CONTRAST DRAPERY LINING WITH A TABLECLOTH

August 3, 2016 by Kristin Jackson 2 Comments

Back in May, my mom was visiting which means we make our traditional trip to HomeGoods.  While going up and down the aisles I ran across a Kate Spade tablecloth that someone had obviously picked up and had regrets and placed it down in the wrong aisle.  I got super excited but thought… “where would I use this?!”  We no longer have any long rectangular dining tables…  That is when my crazy mind kicked in and I immediately threw it in our cart.… Read More

I have always said that your bedroom should be you I have always said that your bedroom should be your escape. Now on day 150 of staying at home (almost entirely) that statement could not ring more true. After living with moving boxes in the corner of our untouched bedroom, I worked with what we had and transformed our bedroom. 80% of the items needed we already had on hand, including the paint (SW Caviar)! The addition of the vintage rug from @revival_rugs really brought all of the pieces together. I put him in a new frame and placed him on the wall... I stood back to admire/height check and realized I was in his exact same pose, reflecting in the frame 😂 he was meant to be here. I also love the history behind the painting, it was in response to his rival who basically said that blue tones should be kept to a minimum and only used to highlight warmer tones.
