HANDPAINTED WALLS // HALLWAY MAKEOVER

November 18, 2016 by Kristin Jackson 8 Comments

In the midst of all of the One Room Challenge madness, I decided to put more on my own plate… for absolutely no reason.  Does anyone else do this?!!  I get an idea & simply must act upon it, immediately!  Well, I am glad that I went with my gut on this one.  Even though I had absolutely zero “extra” time to do it.… Read More

Popping in for an unexpected evening post thanks to the generous invitation to participate in A Night In, a new blog series hosted by Chris Loves Julia & Yellow Brick Home.  They have asked a few of us this evening to take a look into our own home at night… a rare occurrence here in blogland where let’s face it, pretty pictures happen during the day.  … Read More

OCCUPATIONAL HAZARD // NEW RUG

August 31, 2016 by Kristin Jackson No Comments

As an Interior Designer, I often pick up items that I think would be perfect for a client’s new space.  And sometimes, I may bring them home and realize that they are perfect for one of my spaces instead.  #OccupationalHazard oops.  This happened last week after I picked up a colorful rug from World Market for my cousins home.
I had it rolled up, simply leaning against the wall in our hallway and continued to glance over, envisioning the rug in my stepson’s room.  … Read More

CONTRAST DRAPERY LINING WITH A TABLECLOTH

August 3, 2016 by Kristin Jackson 2 Comments

Back in May, my mom was visiting which means we make our traditional trip to HomeGoods.  While going up and down the aisles I ran across a Kate Spade tablecloth that someone had obviously picked up and had regrets and placed it down in the wrong aisle.  I got super excited but thought… “where would I use this?!”  We no longer have any long rectangular dining tables…  That is when my crazy mind kicked in and I immediately threw it in our cart.… Read More

PATIO TABLE // OUTDOOR FURNITURE SEALER

August 1, 2016 by Kristin Jackson No Comments

As I mentioned on Friday’s post, I made our new patio table after our Live Edge Table died this Summer.  We loved that table and considered building the same one again (minus the ice bucket, which was good in theory, but actually ended up being the demise of the table I think.  Mostly due to condensation leaking into the top) so I decided to try something else.  … Read More

SUMMER HOME TOUR

June 8, 2016 by Kristin Jackson 2 Comments

Happy Summer!!  Well, not officially, but y’all know what I mean.  The kiddos are out of school for the next two months & we are trying to pack all of the fun into eight short weeks.  They go back August 1st, which seems like the craziest thing in the world to me… but that is the date, so we will be having fun while we can.… Read More

Outdoor Hanging Chair

June 1, 2016 by Kristin Jackson No Comments

I am so happy it is summer!!  And our family has declared this summer be the “Summer of Fun!”  Basically, my goal is to keep us outside and active vs being a lump in front of all of our devices.  We are a week in, and so far so good.  This also means that we have been cleaning up both of our patios and getting the Bocce Court back in tip top shape.… Read More

A Floral Fireplace

March 30, 2016 by Kristin Jackson No Comments

One of the hardest things for me to change in Chloe’s room was her dollhouse… I had built her a dollhouse a few years ago into the antique fireplace opening.  Sadly, it was one of those things that I really wanted her to play with, but she never really gravitated towards.  It was no longer practical or functional & the insert took up a bit of extra floorspace she could use to play with the toys she does love.… Read More

I have always said that your bedroom should be you I have always said that your bedroom should be your escape. Now on day 150 of staying at home (almost entirely) that statement could not ring more true. After living with moving boxes in the corner of our untouched bedroom, I worked with what we had and transformed our bedroom. 80% of the items needed we already had on hand, including the paint (SW Caviar)! The addition of the vintage rug from @revival_rugs really brought all of the pieces together. I also love the history behind the painting, it was in response to his rival who basically said that blue tones should be kept to a minimum and only used to highlight warmer tones.
