Breakfast Nook with Domino & Laura Ashley

June 2, 2014 by Kristin Jackson 32 Comments

I have been shamelessly dropping hints about a “Secret Project”, well… this is it!  A few months back I was contacted by Domino Magazine to help with a project.  Could you just die?!  Domino emailed me. I may have shed a tear if I am being honest.  They said they loved the Hunted Interior & wanted to know if I would like to pair up to create a space to ReImagine Laura Ashley… Loving a challenge I immediately said “YES!” without even thinking of a space to ReImagine.

The Shed: Paint it Black

May 14, 2014 by Kristin Jackson 29 Comments

Our little powder blue shed.  I have hated this thing ever since we moved into our home almost seven years ago.  It serves a great function for us as additional storage, but the color of it & the placement of it just never made any since to me.  I am all for a fun pop of color, but this blue was just out of… well… the blue.… Read More

Make a Pendant | 101

February 12, 2014 by Kristin Jackson 11 Comments
One of my favorite projects to date (& probably our least expensive!) was our Brass Bowl Kitchen Pendant.  The beautiful thing about this project is that anyone can do this, with any bowl or vessel & a few readily available materials from your local hardware store.  As our Pendant is still one of my favorite things, I thought I would revisit it & break down the project a little further.… Read More

DIY(ish) Large Acrylic Wall Frame

February 5, 2014 by Kristin Jackson 45 Comments

Have you ever had one of those projects that you really want to do, but have no place to put them?!  Well, this custom acrylic wall frame has been one of those projects.

Aman & Carson
I adore the simplicity of these sandwiched lucite frames held off the wall with standoffs.  But they can get pricey if you need a custom size.… Read More

Project LIttle Lady: Dollhouse & Details

January 10, 2014 by Kristin Jackson 18 Comments
Chloe fell in love with her Grandmother’s Dollhouse when we visited for Thanksgiving, so we knew we needed to incorporate one into her new room.  With no room to have a large one, we opted to build it into the fireplace.  And she has been playing with it ever since the day it was constructed.  Literally, it was just unpainted wood & she was already claiming bedrooms for her “Critters” as she calls them.… Read More

DIY Spotted Drapery

November 11, 2013 by Kristin Jackson 28 Comments

You all know by now that I am a sucker for spots… I have been dying for some spotted drapery panels for a while, but was so bummed when Premiere Prints dropped their Togo pattern.  It was by far the best & most affordable option.  Especially for the amount of yardage needed for drapery.  That’s when a little lightbulb went off over my head!… Read More

A Little Layer of Gold… (Gold Leaf that is)

September 16, 2013 by Kristin Jackson 43 Comments

While it may not appear drastically different… because it’s not, I decided to upgrade our spray painted Ikea Vittsjo Coffee Table using a little gold leaf.  Why you might ask?!?  Well, gold spray paint is hard to seal (& still retain its shine) so after constant glass cleanser tackling pb&j finger prints the metallic paint began to wear off.  The gold leaf however can be sealed properly & has an even truer shine that really makes it feel more expensive.… Read More

Console DIY + $250 Home Depot Gift Card Giveaway

June 26, 2013 by Kristin Jackson 205 Comments
A few weeks ago I accepted a challenge.  I accepted the #BountyChallenge .  Bounty Challenge? Yes, the Bounty Paper Towels we all know & love proposed a task to myself & a few other bloggers to create a mess & clean it up with their paper towels.  Quite honestly, there is always a mess at our home so this was an easy decision to make.… Read More
