Hot Cocoa & Traditions
A few weeks ago, Pottery Barn asked me what one of my favorite Holiday Traditions was & looking back on my childhood, one stood out. Growing up, we always drank Hot Cocoa while excitedly opening up presents. The best part was drinking out of the kitschy red hat Santa Mugs that only came out one day a year. I loved those mugs! But over the years, they have broken, discolored & disappeared in moves. This year, we are bringing my childhood tradition back to life with the help of these adorable Santa Mugs from Pottery Barn.
While I typically stay away from “traditional” figures in my decor for the holidays I just had to bring these guys into our home. My favorite part about them is that they are an untraditional white! Pottery Barn offers red as well, but the white fits in with our home & holiday decor perfectly.
So when it comes to Christmas morning we will be in our pajamas huddled around the tree, sipping hot cocoa & celebrating tradition. This is something that makes me smile.
And while I am continuing my childhood traditions, we are also creating a new one for our daughter. Along with the six Santa Mugs that we added to our collection, I also added this one adorable Reindeer Mug just for her. She has had Hot Cocoa, milk & juice out of this mug everyday since we received it! And I am not sure it will be allowed to be packed away at the end of the holiday season!
