I am so excited to be sharing this post today, mostly because there has been a lot of work behind the scenes the past few months & it is finally coming to fruition! One of my favorite girls is Cassie from Hi Sugarplum & I suppose the feeling is mutual by looking at the amount of texts we send to each other daily.
Cassie is doing her second round of the One Room Challenge (this was her space last round) & this time she brought me along for the ride.  After recently moving into a beautiful new home earlier this year, her head was spinning on what space to tackle next.  So she basically has the opposite problem as me… A house full of rooms to tackle vs a virtually completed home so I have been living vicariously.
Finally deciding on her Living Room (or Parlour as we are lovingly calling it!) she hired me to help her with the overall design.  Cassie has such a fun & colorful style & I was brought in to help her with a few ideas she may not have thought of originally.  As a designer, one of the first things I do with a client is to determine their style & comfort zone then I test the boundaries.  I know Cassie & her family aren’t afraid of color, but I had never seen her use purple in any interiors.  I decided to base the entire room on this gorgeous purple area rug.  It was a risk.  Her initial reaction was “Purple?”, but after seeing what the space could be, her reaction turned to “Purple!”
Be sure to head over to Hi Sugarplum to see the progress of the project the next few weeks!  Every Wednesday she’ll be updating everyone on the space.  I’ll be sharing some shots too.  It is going to be good!
It’s so nice, to have a real life friend in this crazy digital world.  Here is a shot of Cassie & I when we were in NYC a few weeks ago with Better Homes & Gardens. Here is the source for my cape blazer (the blush is sold out) & Cassie’s gorgeous skirt.
