Party Prepping

It has been a busy busy week around the Jackson household this week… besides being Chloe’s last week of PreSchool ( how the heck did that happen already?!! ) it is also my StepSon’s 16th Birthday ( and now I feel old! )! So we are running around having end of school parties & prepping for my first ever teenage boy party… which is slightly terrifying for a mother of a young daughter. I am used to throwing over the top parties with themes & decorations, but apparently boys are different, LOL. His request is pizza & a movie, so that’s what we are doing tomorrow night. I did take the movie factor up a notch by creating an outdoor movie screen for them on our top deck and am using the image above for my inspiration. The top deck recently got a little update… so you might want to check back tomorrow for that reveal!
We also made the last minute decision to head to Disney World at the end of the month. Sadly, most of the Princess Reservations are already full, but I am sure we will still have a great time & Chloe is over the moon excited… I think the boy is excited too, he is just too cool at 16 to admit it.
So while I am busy baking, partying & prepping for our next trip, here are a few things I have been checking out this week:
// This recipe for the classic yellow cake with a fluffy ganache frosting… ganache is cooling as I type actually!
// The boy requested this 80’s Cult Classic to watch at his party…
// This is a great tutorial for a DIY Movie Screen
// I bought a few of these dresses for C to wear at Disney… we are calling this color Elsa Blue.
// I also got a very fancy fanny pack. Yes, I said fancy fanny pack. I swear, it looks so cute on & will be great for our trip.
Hope you all are having a great week! And if you have any great Disney tips, I’d love to hear them!!
