Crayon Abstract Art

No surprise, Chloe is turning into a little artist. She loves anything dealing with crayons, chalk, paint… oh paint…
So after seeing this Tutorial from Jenna Brown Photography while perusing Pinterest, we decided to give this a try…

Don’t worry… I did all the hot stuff. Chloe was in charge of picking out colors & peeling the paper off the crayons. All you need are some crayons, a canvas & a hairdryer. I followed Jenna’s instructions which are super simple. You simply hold the crayon, hit it with the hairdryer & move your crayon around creating puddles of color. You can keep your hairdryer on the puddles to create larger areas of color & layering colors create this really cool water color effect.
Are you attempting any Pinterest Projects this weekend?
Love this project! Haven't seen this one run across my Pinterest boards yet, but it's one I'll have to try!
Enjoy your Sunday,
Dayka
Seriously loving your crayon art. I have a two pack of white canvas that has been sitting in my closet for awhile…may have just found the perfect project for them. Thanks for the inspiration!
LOVE all the ideas that come from pinterest! This one looks awesome and not too hard to attempt. I may have to give this one a try!
Wow…these came out great. I haven't attempted many pinterest projects…but this one looks like a real good one to try π
Such a cute idea!
This is an awesome idea! My girls would love it! I did finish up some ruffled totes that I had pinned a while back; trying to go through and actually do something about all of those pins on my boards! What good is Pinterest if we only leave it inspired, but not actually creating? Thanks for sharing this!
Looks awesome! Love it against the stripes.
That turned out awesome!

That came out really great. I thought the other crayon projects on pinterest were a bit cheesy but I really like this. You are very talented!
Ive always wanted to try this! Great job with yours!
I love that you're teaching your daughter to think outside the box, i.e. crayons aren't just for coloring…many other masterpieces to be created with those babies!
Your {Chloe's} faux water color art is stunning … really does have the effect of a water color. I love the combination of colors too. I've seen other crayon art that looked a bit like, well, crayon art, but these pieces don't hint at all as to the medium used. I don't have a T3 hair dryer but I assume any hair dryer will work and I might just give this a try.
This is a fun colorful project with so many ways it could go! I've got an old canvas at home and you've just inspired me!
Wow! Those look amazing! I'm super impressed. I would love to do this with my kiddos. Thanks!
Oh, I used to love doing this with our kids…it is so fun! π
