This is one of those updates that no one else may ever notice, but these little details have been on my to do/wishlist for years.  So that my friends gives them reason to be shared.  Also, it helps to prove my point that rooms take time.  This particular space has been a culmination of ideas and projects that have taken years to come together.  So don’t be afraid to let your own space come together over time.  In this world of instant gratification, patience is hard to come by.  I get it!  But remember the old adage… “Good things come to those who wait.”

The original plan was to always add additional moulding into this space.  We added the plate rail moulding a few years back and ever since then it felt unfinished.  So late last year, I pulled out came the saw and nail gun once again.  Much like our living room, I added some panel moulding throughout the bedroom.  This was also the last remaining space to not have any crown moulding.  So the crown was added as well.  Again, a detail that simply feels as if it has always been there, but really finished off the space.

While I loved the look of the original large round mirror I had over my nightstand, I needed some symmetry.  And while I was simply going to reorder the same mirror, I quickly learned was my husband’s nightstand is two inches shorter in width than my vanity.  Those two precious inches kept me from using the same mirror! My original mirror moved to my son’s room, because it is gorgeous and had to be used somewhere, and I went on the hunt for a slightly smaller mirror for our room.  I came across these and loved the size, price & finish.  Done.

Also, did you notice my new lucite bench?!  That was a birthday present.  I am still debating on what to recover it with because the blue looks much better in pictures… but that base is perfection.

We replaced our old dark wood ceiling fan (a must here in the South) with a similar feel to the living room using a modern fan juxtaposed with a traditional medallion.  I love this particular fan by Haiku Fans, it connects to my phone as well as my Amazon Echo Dot and when I want to change the speed or the amount of light in the space I simply say “Alexa turn off the light” and boom.  Lights, out.

Finally, the last change made was replacing our bamboo shades with these cordless roman shades.  I ordered them on a whim honestly thinking that they wouldn’t work, but they were perfect.  The white color blended perfectly with our Ikea Ritva Drapery Panels and the cordless detail makes them simple to use.

I still love the vibe of this space and am positively over the moon in love with our Antelope Wallpaper.  I am so glad I took that chance a few years back.  No regrets.
