She’s a Little Bit Country & I’m a Little Bit Rock & Roll

Today I am sharing a little work from a dear (& crazy talented) friend, Laura from Finding Home.
We met last year at Haven & instantly hit it off.  We have stayed in touch via the blog world since then & have had similar experiences along the way.  We both have been published! & we both have had (well I am having) Joss & Main sales!  Pretty cool to have such similar growth during the same time period with someone you consider a friend.
We have a lot in common.  Especially our love and admiration for Emily Henderson!  We both love vintage finds, a gold accent & can appreciate each other’s style even though it is not our own.  We thought it would be fun to compare & contrast a few of our similarities in design to prove that any of these items can translate to any style
I mean… who doesn’t love a well styled built in?  I love the little vintage elements that fill Laura’s bookcases.  That little truck, the initials & the globe are my personal faves. Mine have the back painted allowing the white ceramics to pop against the background.
We both love gathering & assembling Gallery Walls.  I simply adore the items (not just photos) that are incorporated into this amazing arrangement.  While Chloe’s has all images, I kept it interesting by mixing up the photography & artwork styles.
Anyone who can appreciate a bold piece of furniture is a friend of mine!  This stunning blue perfectly suits this darling end table.  My green roadside relic was saved via spray paint & some tlc.
This decoupaged map desk in her tween daughter’s room is so creative & completely on trend with all the map decor lately.  Plus, it’s educational right?!?  I also took an turn at modifying some geography by turning a thrift store globe into a birth announcement for my daughter.

I think we both agree that a cloche vignette can do no wrong.  Once you place anything under a cloche or bell jar it instantly becomes something special.
Just because you don’t relate to a certain style, doesn’t mean you can’t draw inspiration from it!  I am constantly inspired by my sweet friend & I hope you are too.  For more of Laura’s Projects go here, decorating tips go here & her stunning House Tour go here.
