WOW!  First off let me say THANK YOU!!! I am floored by the donations for the Room Service Atlanta project I introduced last week.  This room is completely a group effort, so thank you to anyone who has, or is considering donating to such a great cause.
As the majority of the goods will be donated, I am having to try to get all my plans done now to make sure the room doesn’t look like a hodgepodge of randomness in the end… not really the look I am going for.  But the look I will be going for will be greatly inspired by these spaces, by two of my favorite ladies, Jenny Komenda from Little Green Notebook & Emily Henderson:

I want the room to be fun & fearless.  Since it is such a small, but multi-functional space it needs to keep the eye moving throughout the space.  Of course, I will be doing this with my two favorite things: Color & Pattern!  I am also including art.  And lots of it.  I think art can be extremely powerful & completely tell a story.  The pieces I already have lined up are going to do just that!
Here is the direction we are heading in so far… it really is fun being able to let loose in this space!
I already have the majority of this ready to go.  The white floor lamp inspiration came from West Elm, but I transformed a Lamp/Table we found on the side of the road into a pretty convincing doppelganger this weekend.  More on that later this week…
The green drapery was panels we had leftover from a Restaurant Design a few years ago.  I have been holding onto them knowing they would work somewhere… I think this may just be the spot.  An unexpected color that will add some depth & drama to the space.
The Fabrics { Spotted: Togo by Premiere Prints | Floral: Santa Maria Desert Flower by Waverly } are also remnants I have lying around.  I scored 3 yards of the spotted fabric on clearance for next to nothing a few months ago.  So glad I nabbed that.
The sham is representing the duvet which is being donated… more on that very soon!
The dresser is an inspiration.  The piece I find will undoubtedly be painted in Rustoleum’s Safety Red.  It really is the perfect red.
Needing some dramatic yet affordable lighting, I am leaning towards this drum shade trio from World Market.  A nice contrast to all the other items in the space.

Again, I couldn’t be happier with the direction this room is taking, but there is still a lot of work ahead of me.  If you feel inspired to donate either money or goods both are greatly appreciated.  Monetary donations can be made on my sidebar through PayPal & if you have any goods, please email me at
