Along with sharing a few of our favorite projects throughout the year you can also find me over at Centsational Girl today.  Kate was kind enough to ask my opinions on a few trend & design related questions over the past year & heading forward into 2013.  Be sure to head over & see what all of the other contributors had to say.  I must say that I am a little floored being in the company of Jenny Komenda of The Little Green Notebook, Emily A. Clark, Camila Pavone of Effortless Style & of course Kate!
Onto the favorites…
Without doubt, my favorite project of the year was our new “fireplace”.  This new to us vintage mantel completely transformed our dining room this year & makes me smile every time I walk by.  Who would have thought that little disks of yard debris could be so beautiful?!?
Speaking of the Dining Room, that room transformation tops the list as well.  The wrap around shelves, the newly paneled glossy doors & my fortunate mistake with the upholstery all came together to create a space that we use more than ever.
Our DIY Live Edge Table will forever be one of our favorites.  We still have discussions about “the next time we make a table like this we need to do this to make it better!”  So I think no matter the home, we may always have a faux live edge table in it.
The kitchen got the least expensive upgrade this year.  For less than $100 we refreshed our tiny kitchen into a chic little space.  I think…  We love our chalkboard wall & still use it daily.  The best Thrift Store find of the year was that $2 brass bowl we turned into our pendant light.
The other side of the kitchen has our luckiest roadside pick up.  We made this desk earlier in the year with all intentions of building a hutch for it… months later still no hutch.  Life (& other projects) got in the way.  Sure enough we found this hutch all by itself on the side of the road & it was the exact dimensions we needed.  We brought it home & gave it some love, which typically means black glossy paint. The black balances the chalkboard wall & gives my little corner some definition.
You can read more about this hutch here & here.
Your favorite post has been our Bedroom by a long shot!
This is just a handful of the projects we have tackled over the past year.  If your visiting from Centsational Girl today WELCOME!  The Tutorials section has all of our past projects & our Home Tour will give you links as well.
To the new readers & long time readers I must express my deepest gratitude for you taking the time to stop by on a daily basis.  This year has been a whirlwind adventure that does not seem to be ending any time soon. Spring 2013 looks to be a very eventful few months for the Hunted Interior so be sure to stick around in the new year to follow the latest & greatest (& of course a few fails!)
