So the littles can now officially climb into her crib…. Terrifying. So we are rapidly finalizing our plans for the quickly approaching big girl bed. Luckily, we already have the majority of the pieces as I have discussed before { Here & Here }. The problem is, I keep looking at Pinterest! Darn you inspirational pictures. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, I see this AMAZING room!
I mean… seriously, I am moving in immediately! Love the canopy detail, LOVE the fabric, love that the pattern is on the inside { totally unexpected }, if only I was working on a project with a West Elm Daybed that I wanted to make into a canopy….OH YEAH! Soooo, the plan has changed once again & this is it!!! I have even come up with a knock your socks off, “why didn’t I think of that?” idea for the canopy. And yes, it came from looking around my house & using something that I already have… Are you guys listening to that advice yet? ; )
Now I just needed a visual with the fabrics I had already selected { & purchased }. So this is kinda what I am envisioning…
Pretty fun right? While I would love to continue the fabric down onto the bed, I don’t think I am going to have enough yardage to accomplish that & I am not really loving the idea of buying more fabric. But at least it continues to be an option down the road. We already have a white Pottery Barn daybed cover that should be a perfectly good stand in. I figured I would probably have enough material left to create some euro shams though… that should help reinforce the inspiration idea.
I think I have also talked myself into painting the daybed… After I saw the one on “Pretty Litttle Liars” painted { yes I watch a teenage mellow drama. Don’t Judge! }
I’m really excited about this project, but less enthused by the fact that the littles is quickly approaching 2. Where has the time gone?!? Keep your eyes out for this upcoming project. At the rate she’s going it could be going up any day now.
What a jaw-dropping inspiration photo! I think the white cover will be totally fine. I know you'll be mixing in lots of other interesting colors and patterns, plus you'll surely need something you can easily throw into the wash. Can't wait to see your take on it. My little one is turning 9 this week…time really does go by way too fast!
I love the inspiration photo. Just from looking at your inspiration board and your visual one can see this is going to be fabulous. I have to admit I am curious what you are using for the canopy. Can't wait to see the reveal!
Luv it! Just another thought, if you ended up with a little bit of fabric leftover as an option to throw pillows bedecked in that amazing pattern. How about either using it as a simple tailored bed skirt along the front only (if you don't have enough to wrap all the way around just use a white solid on the other sides to tie in the white PB daybed cover), or as a memo/pin board cover (gives it a bit more spread in the room, that whole lovely repetition of such a beautiful textile).
That room is jaw dropping amazing! WOW!

I just posted the same inspiration photo for my little one's big girl room. It's an amazing photo, I can't wait to see how it turns out!
So cool. I can't wait to see how it comes out. That inspiration photo is AMAZING!
