So… I admit it… I tend to live in the land of brown, taupe, white & black.  I live in neutral.  I blame this entirely on my previous position as a hotel interior designer.  Living in that much color all day at work has turned me towards this neutrality.  I’m finally coming back around to the idea of color in our home.  After assisting a client on her bedroom I’m looking up…to the ceiling that is.

My client has an exceptional eye for decor on her own.  I came in to assist with wallcovering, paint & a bed selection.  I was thrilled  when she mentioned wanting a painted ceiling.  Not everyone is brave enough for this design choice.  The combination of patterns & colors in this space are only enhanced by the kelly green above.
Here are some of my favorite uses of color on the ceiling.

An unexpected tiffany blue in this modern kitchen.

The playful use of stripes are fantastic in this nursery from Domino Magazine

Traditional sky blue always works.

What about wallcovering on the ceiling?!? Lovely, as long as I don’t have to hang it.

We’ll see if I end up soaring into the world of painted ceilings.  First, I need to finish the walls!
